Knitting for Prem Babies

Last week was World Prematurity day – a time to think about those precious wee beings that are so well looked after in our Neo Natal wards. Having had 2 babies that each spent a night in an incubator I have a special feeling for the babies and their families.
We makers can help by knitting garments for Neonatal units, these garments should be in natural fibres, and of course wool is best.
These garments can help humanize the babies and colour is important. Cool colours tend to suit the babies best as they can be quite red or yellow if suffering from jaundice.
The celebration of the day was the push that I needed to finish publishing the Prem baby patterns that I had developed with our Strand Super Fine Yarn.
